New Tank Story

Just curious if anyonelse experienced this when starting a planted tank.

My tank is only 4 weeks old and ever since day one the waters always been a lil cloudy. bout 5 days ago I came home and i was very very cloudy, i went to work and the following day the water was green. I turned off the lights for 3 days and started them back up a few days ago. Now my water is crystal clear, clearer then its ever been. Not ferting yet or anything.

Just thought I'd share that with all ya.

A "Green Water" attack and the black out that killed it! Nothing new really.

A little search on "Green Water" will provide you with tons of information Coltrain.

It was most likely the lack of light. Your three days with no light seems to have been long enough to starve the algae of light and kill it.
