Aqueon evolves

Today we went shopping around knox, we had to go scoop up a 40 gal breeder while the dollar a gallon sale was going on, so while in the "big" city we made the rounds and at the petsmart by west town mall, not the one in turkey creek they had 3-4 4 gal evolves for 29.99 and a 8 gal for 39.99, so of course the 8 followed me home woot

Wicked!!!! 40B's are awesome fun to scape!!! Any plans for it yet?

I hate to be a downer.....but the Evolve is very poorly designed

Only bad things happen quickly.
A little allot is better than allot a little.

Evolve 8 specs

I just picked one up today and, this is going too be fun. After having Aquariums all my life, Have always wanted to do a Nano plant tank and, It's my first. After getting it home, I wanting to find out just how much water can the Evolve 8 hold? Now one would think the Evolve 8 would be 8 gallon? well, when getting it out of the box and taking a good look, it just did not look that it could even hold close to 8 gallons.

So, this is what I did. With nothing in the tank, first started by checking how much the sump would hold. Adding water from 1 gallon water bottle the sump holds 1.50 or one and one half gallons, and then too the front aquarium itself.

I used the same 1 gallon water bottle and filled the aquarium to the top, it took 4.75 gallons.

So this is what it is: Aquarium 4.75
Sump +1.50
=6.25 total gallons

So what is the Evolve 8? it's a 4.75 gallon aquarium with added 1.50 sump.
