There is a place out on Colerain Ave called Monfort, I have gone there a bunch. They have a few plants, but a ton of supplies and fish. Also, if you want to travel north to Dayton, there is a little place called Gerbers that i go to as well. Kind of the same, TONS of fish, and a few plants here and there. Lots of supplies. There is a place out near Hamilton, but i have never been there, and cannot think of the name right now.

Aquatics and Exotics in Mt. Healthy is pretty good. World of Pets in Erlanger. Both carry a good selection of supplies and fish. I think you can get better deals and aquatics and haggle them down. Neither have many plants though.

The local club is http://www.gcas.org/content/ (there is an auction this upcoming weekend). I'd also recommend PASO https://www.facebook.com/groups/plantedohio/

You can find the local pet stores that support the club in the forums, each has their own sub-forum. In Dayton the only non-chain store that I go to is Gerber's. He's in the process of redoing his freshwater section (about done) and I'm hoping to get him a couple nice planted tanks in the future.

I'm in the Dayton area and there are quite a few good 'plant' people around in the Cincy/Dayton area....even Columbus if you venture up there (easier for me since I'm in the middle of Cincy/Columbus).

Top Shelf Aquatics on Colerain Ave. is my go to place. He mostly specializes in African cichlids, but does stock other fish like apistos, corys, shrimp, etc.

My go to for plants is the owner of shrimpusa.com. He's out in Sharonville. His plants aren't on his website, but he has over 10,000 plants. If you join the GCAS.org site, he goes by reefdive on there.

does anyone know if any of these places has amano shrimp? I'm up closer to Lima but would drive if I could find some.

Aquarium adventure is out. Don't really like that place anyhow, too expensive unless you hit a sale.

I've never seen them in the area. I have always ordered mine online.

That's what I figured. Seems like people on the forum find them so I thought I'd ask.

There's also all about pets in west Chester. Dave's a great guy and sells a lot of used equipment as well as parts to go along with the new stuff. Very few plants but his livestock is good quality.

Also suggest giving GCAS a try. There aren't too many of us plant guys, and fewer high tech guys, but everyone is very open to sharing their knowledge.

Dave's a bit quiet at first though. My first time in his shop buying African Cichlids, he kept disappearing lol. Good shop and some pretty good prices. Haven't been back since I switched to a planted dwarf cichlid tank though.

I'm on GCAS as well under PsymonPsays. Haven't paid for a full membership yet though since I can't make any of the Sunday meetings (work...blah).

Monfort on Colerain carries them whenever they can get them. Last time I was there (less than a week ago) they had some. I would call before that drive... good luck
