East NC Fishkeeping (Greenville)

I'm moving from Charlotte to Greenville soon for a new job and was wondering if anyone on here is from the Greenville (or surrounding) area.

If so, what is the fishkeeping like out there? Are there any nice local stores or reliable sources of fish / plants / etc.? What are the water conditions typically like for you? What types of fish would I likely be able to find locally, the typical Petsmart spectrum or some interesting species?

In Charlotte, I've gotten used to driving an hour or so to visit the LFSs because of big city driving. So if you know of a nice place a reasonable distance away, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi. I'm from Greenville. Nice to have one more fishkeeper! Unfortunately there are no local petstores. I mean no private owned ones. We do have Petco, Petsmart, and SweetPets (marine mostly) but I wouldn't call them reliable source of fish or plants. It depends on what you are looking for. You can find a good stores in Raleigh though.

I have never been to this store, but heard it worth the drive. I think it would be about an hour from you.
