Brooklyn Aquarium Society 05.08.15

Big Auction this Friday! Anyone going to this? It's going to be at a different location: Saint Marks School Auditorium 2602 East 19th Street. I'm going to try my best to make it, hopefully some killies and other "different" fish.

I was really hoping to make it to this one; but looks like family obligations might trump the needs of the hobby. What time is this happening?

Do you have to be a Brooklyn Aquarium Society member to attend/purchase in the auction?

Auction was ok, a decent amount of people showed up. The location was larger then the normal place by the aquarium. I was a lil disappointed with the selection up for auction. I was looking forward to seeing fish/plants that aren't so common in our lfs. Quite a few goldfish and African cichlids were up for auction. Seen some nice endlers, freshwater pipefish and two (wild type) male betta fish. The rest were Texas cichlid fry, ramshorn snails, java fern, bacopa, sw royal gramma, blenny, etc. Maybe next auction people will be encouraged to bring more of their personal fish and plants that they breed or grow at home. I did pick up two packs of bloodworms for a good price! And always fun to be around people that share the same interests as you!
