Suggestions for schooling fish

Hey guys, I want to restock my 55 gallon. Only have 3 rummy noses in there at this time. Looking to add about 30 or 40 schooling fish, mainly cardinals. Wanted to see if there are any local breeders or places with nice stock that won't cost $3 a fish. Thanks.

You can get most tetra (ex. cardinal, ember, golden, black, gold neon etc.) under 3 dollars, I think rasboras such as espei and harlequin too. Check out monster aquarium if you are in Queens.

At one point I had about 60 Cardinals in my 55g. They did not school very well I would say get some Rummynose, they take advantage of the 55g length and are fun to watch.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into the brilliant rasboras. Never kept them before. Rummynoses are nice and I've been meaning to check out Monster. Just miss when I could get cardinals for $1 each.

White clouds are 2 dollars not on sale. On sale usually 1 dollar a fish.

Rummynose really school well. Perhaps pick up some more. Cardinals are beautiful and get a little larger than neons. They do tend to break up however , certainly much more than rummynose. Striped barbs are gorgeous schooled up. Google them. They are not always easy to get however.

I get Cardinals for $1.99 in Sac. Buy 7 get 3 free. Comes out to a buck 49 ea. Order them in bulk from an lfs. Don't be afraid to ask for a discount.

The fastest way to success is patience.

Best,
