NYC bloodworms?

I remember a few yrs ago, one of my good friend's dad use to buy bloodworms for his oscar. he told me it was some aqurium place in queens. But I havn't been able to get in touch with him for yrs now.

I can't remember where did he say he got it from. Does anyone know of any places in NYC that I can get some live fresh bloodworms?

this chain has tubifex worms,
and occasionally black worms.

they are the same as "blood" worms.

I've been there many times. I appericate the tubifex and blackworms, but I've been culturing them for years now since my favorite LFS closed down.

I hate petland because they don't know the difference between tubifex or blackworm or even a simple bloodworm. Im talking about like frozen bloodworms but live.

http://www.caudata.org/cc/images/art...rms/worms2.jpg These are blackworms and they label them as tubfiex and sometimes they switch them.

And not the marine fishing bait. http://www.mainebait.com/bloodworms.jpg

But these guys http://www.cals.ncsu.edu/course/ent4...bloodworms.jpg

I know, I have the same frustrating with PLD
I always want Blackworms, and they give me
Tubifex because they are clueless. There is
a place in Astoria that reliably has only Black.
they also have excellent prices on AGA tanks.

Thanks I live in astoria and I never heard of the place.

But no thanks, I'm in need of live bloodworms. I already have cutures of blackworms. I think there is a place in woodside that had it. But I really can't remember.

btw.. live bloodworms are seasonal, so it's really hard to find them live.

Yeah I know. But I know for a fact someone once got them in NY some live bloodworms. And know I finally know how to culture them along with the adult midge flies so I wanna try.

well, next spring/summer, go out to long island or over in jersey and collect some. You won't find any live ones now.
