NYC: Where to buy live plants?

I'm in Manhattan, what LPS have wide selection of live plants? I'm willing to drive.

I just need some plants for my 6 gallon Fluval Edge.

Thanks.

Manhattan isn't really too great for plants. The best place is Win on Mott Street, but even they don't have too much. Last time I went it was just Rotala rotundifolia, moss, and sunset hygro. They do have $1 rcs though.

I went there yesterday. They had no plants. A few amazon plants but none were appealing.

I should have tried Pacific which was down the block but didn't know.

Any garanteed good places outside of Manhattan? I'm willing to drive.

Royal Aqua World in Brooklyn sometimes has some nice plants. Haven't been there in a while. I guess NYC really isn't too much of a plant city. Good for cheap cardinal tetras though.

Pacific can have a good selection from time to time. Most of their stems run $5 a bunch if I remember correctly, which isn't bad considering it's Pacific. Occasionally Petco and Petland Discounts can surprise you with good plants.. though that speaks more about how bad NYC is for plants rather than how good those stores actually are.

Why don't you ask some of the members here on the forum? A lot of them are local. Joraan has really nice plants.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll check out Pacific first and go from there.

I'm curious, whats the most expensive fish you can get for a 6 gallon fluval?

A full grown discus. But it wouldn't last long.

As for nano fish, I imagine some type of fancy purebred guppy could get expensive. But a 6 gallon is a bit small for them. CPDs used to be expensive but there are places that have them for $4 now.

Whatever it is, Pacific sells it.

That was a poorly executed joke. Where's New World Aquarium when you need it? Oh right, closed.

Hands down...Fishtown USA.

I don't know of their plant prices, but they seem to have the best selection I've seen. Their fish prices seem fair as well, I got Tiger Barbs there recently for .99/each.

Send a message via Yahoo to gordonrichards
I have plenty of plants available for sale. Priority mail takes 1 day from Long Island.
Shipping to you is $8.00, Coldpack should still be icy cool. You can use it to stay cold in the summer as well!
