Zebra plecos

I acquired two zebra plecos (Hypancistrus zebra) L046 a few months ago but I STILL dont know the gender of them. I have looked online and still can't tell. Any help would be appreciated.

1st photo, bottom is female, top is male. 2nd photo female is on the left. Body shape and pattern give it away. Juviniles tend to be harder to sex without experience. Where did you get yours if you dint mind my asking? The price on these fish fluctuates widely. Im considering picking some up, I miss my old pair. I had sold mine and all their offspring when I got serious with my coral farming. This may help you out too.

Thanks for the info! I read the article and I'll be using it as a reference guide to breed them. I have had them for 4 months now, they were given to me by someone who had a 90 gallon tank with discus. After a few years the discus died off and he didnt want to deal with maintaining a large tank. I had the pair in a 2.5 with a powerhead, slate rock, heater and cave for about a month. For the past 3 months they have been in a 30x12x6 tank with cpd, pigmy cories and a L129 (I think) there are LOTS of slate, large pebbles, clay pots and java moss. I also have a powerhead with attachment for filtration and circulation. I made a spray bar because the current was too strong. I think I need the clay tubes as described in the article. I feed hikari carnivorous pellets, wardleys shrimp pellets, spirulina pellets, frozen blood worms and brine shrimp, live blackworms and tubifex worms and microworms (cpds and pygmy cories)

The grass isn't always greener in the other tank.

Thats a crazy 9 gallon. reminds me of some of my old frag tanks but even more shallow. Any reason for the 2 hour photo period?

It use to be my axolotl tank. Would be a good frag tank, my reef is a 5.5 gallon aqueon tank! I only do 2 hours because the room gets alot of natural sunlight and I read that the plecos don't like intense lighting. I'm able to see them more when the main lights are off.
