NYC water

Hey all New Yorkers,
SO, the rummer has it that NYC water is soft (and absolutely delicious!!!) Do you guys add anything to harden the water? I hear that people with RO or OR and whatnot add Equilibrium to fix the softness problem. Should I? I have a hard time keeping amazon swords (Yeah I know... I can grow an amazing DH carpet but I cant keep amazons... so embarrassing) Im beginning to see tips of the plants turning dark color and I really dont want them to melt.

I add crushed coral to my HOB to help with the softness.

I also run my tanks with crushed coral because I found I had huge ph swings without it (water going down to 6 or lower over the course of a week). It brings my ph up to 7.4 and my invertebrates are much happier.

Get Gh booster or mix your Own with 3 different salt(K2SO4, CaSO4, and Epsom salts~1:1:1).

You don't need to add anything if your not keeping sensitive shrimp. I never have an issue growing plants. Most come from soft water anyway
