Good lfs for plant variety?

hi guys ...
im familiar with quite a few spots here in jersey as i try to swing by them whenever i happen to be in a particular area. (i drive a lot because of my work). im wondering if theres a few places im not aware of that might have a better variety of plants.
the places im familiar with are:

• absolutely fish
• fish hut
• tropiquarium
• pet shanty (did you guys know they closed the doors) (?!) drove in this week and saw a letter posted on the door stating something about it now being property of the US Federal Bankruptcy Court!
• reef encounter
• kazimir's
• adams pet safari
• ely's
• shark aquarium

i posted them so as to avoid having them suggested since im already familiar with them but also so you guys can check'em out some time in case you didnt know of them, since i see posts sometimes come up where people asking about lfs's in jeresey.
any others im not aware of with good selection of plants, and fish too since we're at it?
thanks all.

if all else fails - i was wondering if ordering on line is the best alternative, then maybe someone would want to place an order together? or a few of us? and save on the shipping big time, which is what has kept me from exploring that option.

Except for what my lfs(less then 10 min away) sells plant wise I order online. Little more expensive and ya gotta wait(i know that's the hardest part) the best plants I get are from here. I just got moss from Hans on here, beautiful moss.

If in doubt, add more plants!

- which one is the one you mentioned thats "less then 10 min away" from you?
- are you planning any orders from an online source soon?
- would you be interested in / against placing an order together to split the shipping cost and save a little there?

I have 2 petcos and 2 petsmart within 10 minutes of me. They usually carry-ludwigia red, various anubias, various ferns, crypt undulate and wendtii green, downoi, lobelia cardinalis, anarchis, the usual stuff
Pets plus in lawrenceville carries different stuff-have found fissedens, riccia, and a Thai Lilly bulb
All aquatics in Trenton is expanding and I think will be doing more plants, as it was they had a hexagon 100+ gallon just for plants
Don't think I will be ordering anything soon. Just a thought, if your ordering more then three plants the cost of shipping is usually offset compared to lfs markup, usually.

If in doubt, add more plants!

You don't have Fish Town USA in Ramsey, NJ on Rt 17 S. Evan is the owner. He gets in good plants regularly.

Jerry Smith Bloomingdale, NJ, USA

If you're ever near the southern jersey area, Aquarium center in clementon has a wide selection of plants. They have about 30 different tanks filled with various plants.

Fish town USA gets by far the most plants I've seen anywhere else.

Fishtown USA is probably the best for plant variety. Absolutely Fish can be pretty good too depending on when you happen to go.

I wasn't impressed Ely's or Pet Shanty's selection. Their plants are in regular tanks with insufficient lighting and no CO2 and generally don't look healthy. Bummer about Pet Shanty closing, I saw the Bankruptcy sign as well, but looks like they have a sister store in Bayonne...

Absolutely Fish has a decent selection of quality plants. But it's overpriced.

I find that trading with people on this forum is better than any LFS. You get a better selection, better quality, and a better price.

Bummer about the Bayonne store.

I was just at Ocean Gallery II on US-22 in North Plainfield and they have a couple of tanks with plants as well.

Don't be afraid to buy online Luky...Aquabid is a great source. I have bought from a couple guys online there and the shipping rates can be reasonable as long as you find someone close to Jersey. Drop me a line & I can suggets a couple...

My Man Richniner!!!
one of the first members here that i met locally who was quick to lend a hand when i first joined!!
its not the fear of shopping online - beleive me i do plenty of that!! its just the shipping that i saw thats tacked on that got me running the other way. i can recall if i checked out that aquabid but i will soon just to window shop a little and try and understand how it works. i was not aware that it comprised of sellers / breeders from all over.
