LFS w/Local Fish Morris County

Hi Everyone! Can anyone tell me if there are any good LFS in Morris County? I just moved to Mendham and I'm still figuring out the area.

I'm specifically looking for a good place to get some live planet. Alternatively, if anyone has any tips about what local fish would be good for a cold water tank, I would appreciate it.

Ideally, I want to have a local water paludarium with emergent and aquatic plants. Hopefully, I'll be getting an LED lighting system soon to go with it. I would like to have a newt and some local darters or blue spotted sunfish if I can catch them.

Thanks

The Fish Hut and Absolutely fish are probably your best bets, but as far as cold-water plants and critters go I really don't know if either can help you on that front.

Local Eleocharis sp would do well for you. I have some I dug up a few years ago at our town pond. Still have it growing emersed. I let it freeze for a few weeks each year. Has always come back. I just planted some in an aquarium today under a nice 3 foot T-5 fixture someone gave me.

Echinodorus tenellus will do fine, as well as some other species. So will Sagittaria subulata. My Sag froze solid last winter and it has come back just fine. It was in a tub above ground and unprotected from the cold. It was frozen solid. Vallisneria americana is native around here too. Potamogeton grows in ponds around here. Hornwort, Myriophyllum pinnatum, Najas sp., Cattails-Typha minima, Ludwigia palustris, Hygrophilla polysperma will grow well in cold (60F) water.

Absolutely Fish on Rt 46 West in Clifton has their Midnight Madness sale tomorrow starting at 10 AM. A very good place for plants. FishTown USA in Ramsey on Rt. 17 South is another great plant place. They have a lot of outdoor goldfish, maybe some other coldwater fish.
