Cherry shrimp in STL county water?

Is anyone breeding cherry shrimp in St. Louis county water?

We use tap water in our tank and not only have our shrimp never bred, they seem to be dying off. If anyone is breeding them in water similar to mine I might be interested in purchasing some!

I know the water smells bad but honestly I can't seem to find a fish that I can kill with it! I do water changes directly from the tap and my fish are thriving. Never tried shrimp or other crustaceans. Aren't shrimp supposed to be extremely sensitive to copper or something like that? You might need to filter or find another source for your water. You might check out Craig's List for our area to see if anyone has them locally. I think I saw them there at one time but I don't recall what county they were in

I breed Neocardina's in St. Louis water. Not cherries specifically, but Rili's and I got some greens (That I hate).

Cherry shrimp in STL county water?

They do fine. I used to have red, blue, orange, and snow ball but only have 1 tank of cherries now. I might have 10-20 to sell if your still looking. Letting the colony build up now as I was busy and sold it down to 10-30 when it was like 300-400. I sell for $1 per shrimp and usually sell them @ 1/4"-1/2" size. If not bought local I find they don't thrive and many die and dont live long but the 2nd generation from them breed great and live long. And then I just mix in 10 from differrnt sources once a year to keep the genes strong.
