green whiptail cats

Ned just got in some Green Whiptail cats.

They sound cool, can't wait to see them in person.
I'm hoping to pick some up tomorrow

I might pick up some cool Aspidoras cats while I'm there as well.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I wish I was closer to Neds, always seems to have a wide selection of species not carried at other shops.

Although does anyone know if Neds is a supplier for other LFSs in the area? It seems that often whatever he lists on his weekly stock list will also be what shows up at Jays aquatics in NH the week after. Although not nearly as extensive. Or is it that they use the same suppliers?

A lot of them have the same supplier for things based out of Worcester> http://www.centralmassaquatics.com/

At least for the more common items.

Thanks cryptic that makes sense. Any idea if this central aquatics sells to individuals or only wholesale for businesses? It didnt really say specifically yes or no on their website. Would love to stop in at that place when I am occasionally in Worcester.

I should say i suspect they use them as their common goods supplier as that seems to be the common factor in all the stores i've frequented.

You need to be a registered vender, but i did hear they do have some times that are open to the public. You'll have to call about that otherwise i can check with someone that i know that can get in with vender status, and possibly grab what your looking for, for you.

I think its likely that Ned and CMA use some of the same suppliers - Ned has some pretty esoteric sources

Just heard back from CMA and they do not sell to the public. Oh well.

After a few weeks Ned moved these to a different tank and they looked pretty green (and healthy) so I grabbed one.
Tossed it in a 20H with a pretty healthy load of val, dwarf sag, and crypts - and have not seen it since.
Don't know if its 'gone' or simply blended into the forest - I've got weitzmani tetras and scarlet badis (and various shrimp) doing great in there so I suspect its just blending into the plants really well

Sounds like a nice tank. Do you have any predation of the shrimp by the tetras or badis?
