UPDATE: They sent me a new aquavalve and assured me that a new head gasket should fix the leak. As I was messing with it i noticed the clamps didnt clamp the head down to the can tight, I stuffed some paper towels between the clamps and that allowed the top to clamp down tight and have no up and down play. I ordered a new gasket but emailed them the same day because I knew the gasket wouldnt fix anything. I let Fluval know this and they immediately responded to just send them the filter. I was real weary with removing my filter off the tank but had an eheim 2213 laying around so I put all the media in the eheim and sent them a bare filter, no media, no intake or outlet, and within 2 days they sent me a brand new one as if I bought it all over again almost 3 years ago. So they took care of me, and their HQ is right in Mansfield so it didnt even take a whole week to send them my filter and get a new one back even a week before xmas. So anyone with a Fluval canister filter, push down on the top and make sure you dont have any play between the head and the can or you could be getting a new setup like me.
