Moving this fall...

First post, but long-time lurker.

Moving to AA County this fall. Lived there 10-15 years ago and used to shop at Aquarium Depot in Randallstown, but I believe that store is closed.

Anyone in the Maryland area know of something better than Pets Smart (or whatever puppy/kitten store that has a few fish tanks) for a LFS? Willing to go north of B'more or as far as NoVA (will be cross-posting to the Virginia forum as well.

Additionally, I've never ordered anything living off the internets. I guess that's an option, but I prefer to make a trip or two to check a place out and start the creative process of setting up the tank.

Thanks in advance for any tips to decent aquarium stores in the B'more/DC area.

House of Tropicals, in Glen Burnie MD. Good selection of fresh and saltwater fish, in addition to corals and plants!

House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie is great. I'm over there frequently and I love the staff. I live in the Annapolis area and it's an easy drive. When I lived north of DC, I used to go to Congressional in Rockville. I haven't been in many years, but it was great when I frequented it. There is a newer shop in Timonium that I haven't been to yet called CTE Aquatics. I've been meaning to check it out, but haven't gotten around to it yet. If you do, let me know how it is!

HoT (House of Tropicals) is nice some of the staff that have been there longer know their stuff and they are usually friendly. But they can be expensive for some items. If you want to go up a bit north more just over the border is a shop called "That Pet Place" they have some stuff that is supposed to be better priced I have not been yet but will be making a trip in a week or so and can post on my findings when I do.
