I believe these little guys are called pouch snails (Physa sp.). I have a few of them in the tank, probably got them through plants but they seem harmless.
Over population can be a problem. They are good algae eaters though! I cut down the population by squishing them for the fish to eat and by using veggies (such as zucchini) at night to remove them. Put in a slice at night, pull out in the am covered with snails.
