Am I ok? Ammonia spike

So I brought some cory catfish the week of thanksgiving for my planted 55g (mopani mantle) tank journal. I was on vacation and did some work on the tank during that week. 50% water change and moved some plants. I saw substrate moved around, which it needed. Didnt think much of it. I didnt have much time last week to check on the tank.

I tested yesterday morning and had 2ppm ammonia. No clue how long its been that high. I did another large watet change last night. Its showing light light tint of green in the yellow now almost 0ppm. The fish seem fine, swimming around like normal. Did I dodge a bullet here?
