Aquarium adventure in Bolingbrook had some in a couple of different sizes last time I was there.

The bigger ones were being sold as flying fox and the smaller ones were being sold under their real name... you'd figure some would have caught that they looked exactly the same. Lol

went today to a nearby Petco. Had Chinese SAE and no `flying fox' in stock. The general state of the fish was ... bad.

Aquarium Adventure Bolingbrook has them labeled as Flying Fox right now, They sell SAE for $4.99 so if you tell them that they labeled wrong, they will sell them for 5 dollars instead of $6 that they are selling the Flying Fox for.

@sohankpatel and @will5
thanks guys. Went there today. Indeed, they do have SAE, and Chinese too, and the "flying fox" which apparently are SAE.

Flying Fox are not SAE, nor do they have comparable algae eating habits. They do look similar. Ocean Design Aquarium in park ridge always carries both SAE and Flying fox separately, and the owner knows the difference. Can you send a pics of the fish you bought?

thanks @TheGreenKnight. I looked carefully, and seemed to me that they just mislabeled them, but I am not sure. Bought just one, although.
there are couple of pictures

It looks to be a true SAE to me. The body stripe goes through the tail, and there are no stripes on the dorsal fin.

ya, i think so too; thanks to @sohankpatel and @will5 for the lead, I actually looked very careful at both tanks, and could not see the difference.
