New Member from Illinois.

I wanted to introduce myself. I am from central illinois near taylorville. I am new to the hobby. I would be interested in buying from area hobbyist. I am interested in java fern, java moss, and other low light low tech plants. I am also looking for shrimp such as the red cherry shrimp and blue velvets.

Sure. How many were you looking for? $4 each. Pic of one and tank they come from. I also have assassin snails. $3 each. I'll be out of town this Wednesday to Sunday. uploadfromtaptalk1442775982519.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442775994418.jpg

That is a gorgeous tank. Would you be willing to sell 6 of them? I live in the decatur area. Would picking them up be ok?

Bump: Do you have any plants you would sell? I need low light low tech plants.

Thanks. Def. Could sell as many as you want. Picking up isn't a problem. Shipping wouldn't either. I live in lagrange. Its a burb outside of chicago. Plant wise. I don't think I would feel comfortable enough yet about selling some of the plants yet. They are about a month old. This would be the first clippings and wouldn't be of much yet if anything.

I thought I'd offer you some tips on shipping shrimp. Since the weather is mild, its pretty simple.

The easiest way is to ship it in a flat rate medium box via USPS. The cheaper way is to use your own box and ship by weight. Package the shrimp in a breather bag preferably with no air left in the bag. Alternatively you can use a poly bag with some air left in the bag. Its also a good idea to drop some moss or a stem in the bag for them to hang onto.

I then fill half the the box with crumpled up newspaper, place the shrimp in the middle and fill with more newspaper so the bag doesn't move much. The weather is perfect for shipping so you shouldn't need a cold pack or anything. Tape it all up and you're good to ship.

BTW your blue velvets are awesome. If you want to trade some for plants, let me know. I can ship you some breather bags too. Otherwise I would love to buy some from you if you have them available.
