Java Fern

So I'm looking for java fern, but I don't want the kind where the rhizomes are just a bulb like in the pet stores. Anyone have or know where I can get some that aren't bulb like? I hope that makes sense, thanks!

The rhizome looks like a fairly thick stem running along the bottom of the leaves
and connecting them in a string.

This next one shows a close up of the rhizome.

You can wrap thread around that part to tie the fern to a branch or rock but you can't grow it without one of those going across the bottom of it.
When planting in the sub only the roots which hang down from that should be in the sub. If you get a "mat" of it or really just a couple of leaves you can just put something on top of it to hold it in place for a few weeks and it will root it's self from there.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line...in the opposite direction...

Yea I know I was asking if someone new where to get ones like the ones in your pics. At the petstores a lot of them or just little bulbs and I don't want that.

I'm not sure of what is bulb like. But, if you are talking about the ones that come in the pots, just buy a couple of pots unwrap the wool and spread them out like Raymond said. It'll look like the above picture in about 6 months(?). For some reason I can't grow java ferns when I care for them, yet it grows great when I put it in my low tech tank and forget about it.

Check out the Post from Ryan3, I think he might have the type you're looking for.

Shouldn't have any string just remove the wool from the pot.
