Gary Lange, Rainbow Fish authority, at June 5 meeting

Have you ever had a fish named after you?
Gary Lange has! Come see and hear his presentation!

Notice of monthly meeting of the Colorado Aquarium Society,
Friday, June 5, 2015!

Friday, June 5, 2015, @ 7:30 at the First Universalist Church of Denver, 4101 E Hampden Ave, Denver, CO, on the N.E corner of Hampden Ave. and Colorado Boulevard. If you enjoy the aquarium hobby, want to learn more about your fish and you want to have access to new species and new varieties, join us once a month for a very fishy experience.

Non-members, visitors and guests are always welcome.
  • Our speaker will be Gary Lange, the recognized authority on Rainbow fish. Extraordinary NEW Rainbowfish of Papua (Irianjaya) . Gary will speak about his adventures discovering 9 to 10 brand new rainbow fish species from this region; including the most exciting rainbowfish discovery the hobby has seen since the "Neon Rainbowfish"; the "Wapoga Red Lazer". This fish was just recently named "melanotaenia rubrivittata". Gary will share with you the punishment dished out by Mother Nature, how they were able to find their way back through the jungle after being abandoned by their boat captain, trecking hours through the bugs and the mud, and how it was worth every bit of it for these amazing fish! Gary will also bring egg kits with instructions for hatching and care to the auction after his talk. This way you can easily and safely raise these awesome fish in the safety of your own home and enjoy them for many years to come.
  • We will have a mini auction of fish, plants and other fish related items.
  • Our Bowl Show categories for June will be: Characins and Tetras, Neons,, Serpaes, Black Tetra, Flame Tetra, Piranha, Silver Dollars, Anostomus, Leporinus, Metynnis, Headstanders, etc. Hatchets, Headstanders and Pencil Fish are included in this class. Shown in pairs with divider if necessary. Barbs, al species of genera barbus, Barbodes, Capoeta and Puntius. Shown in pairs or twos.

+1 Gary Lange does excellent presentations - even if you don't have a lot of interest in Rainbowfish you will not want to miss this opportunity!
