DHR carpet in pea gravel?

Has anyone had any experience in growing Dwarf hair grass in pea gravel?
How did it go? how was the carpet and how fast was the grass spreading?
I setup a tank with an inch or so layer of pea gravel above aquasoil and just wanted some head up on the things I should take care of from someone who has already done it. I know the runners would be more prone to getting uprooted if the gravel is disturbed. Anything else I should keep an eye on. I am planning on stocking it with some fairly peaceful nano fish such as CPDs, emerald raspboras, ottos, pygmy cories and shrimps. The rest of the tank will be heavily planted with CO2 and lightning at 2.5 watts per gallon.

I know these are a lot of questions but since the tank is new I still have the time to make some changes rather than later when the tank matures.

Anyways your responses will be very much appreciated.

Thank you.
