Why is Blyxa Japonica so hard to get now?

This plant used to be everywhere when Amano used to use it on all his tanks and now it's crazy hard to get. Trying to get it in tissue culture is absolutely impossible unless you are in EU and have normal access to Tropica plants. What gives?

I've even looked for it online at all the bigger plant places and it's all out of stock.

The pandemic has caused all kinds of supply chain issues. Loads of companies have shut down. I'm an AC contractor, we're all having trouble getting AC units.

A month ago I never heard of it. I've seen it in 3 aquascaping videos on YouTube since. I looked for it last month and couldn't find any at my normal sources.

EDIT: I found some here on a search, but I've never personally used this source for plants.

That price is outrageous. Blyxa is an easy plant to grow they are just price gouging people because of the shortage right now.

I got mine from a guy here on the classifieds, @burr740, I think for around $2 per plant. PM him and see when he'll have more ready or click the links in the classifieds until you find some. It pops up fairly frequently.
