Monte Carlo Advice

I am expecting some potted Monte Carlo & havenít had much luck with them in the past. I would like to give them another try.
Iím wondering if I should try DSM which I have never done but willing to try.
I know some carpeting plants do much better and grow faster with CO2 but Iím in no rush , would just like a healthy plant.
I will be planting them in a 10 Gallon cube, Fluval nano led, Fluval stratum substrate.
I appreciate any suggestions and advice.
Thank you

I was very successful using ada soil and a dry start method. Only took a couple weeks for a complete carpet...
