Unhappy Mangrove Issue: Black Leaf Tips

Hi all,

I recently added a mangrove propagule to my new brackish tank, and the 2 leaf tips are turning black. Any ideas what might be the problem?

Much appreciated!

Searching around a bit would seem that they dont like being moved/transplanted so it could be the initial shock from going into a new environment. As long as the roots look good then it should be fine assuming the water is good and there are enough nutrients (which is apparently another possible cause).

Seems to be alot of info on the reef forums where they are more prevalent.

Welcome to the forum by the way. FYI I am a plant nube so.....

Thanks a lot! I'll do some searching on reef forums, too - that's a good idea

Low humidity perhaps? Canít imagine mangroves liking anything less than 50-60% humidity.
