floating plant ID help

Hello Everybody
I've got recently at my LFS some kind of floating plant for free, grass-looking, it looks like hair grass, but floating, no idea what kind of species it is, it grows quickly, not many roots, maybe 1-2, it does better floating than planted, anyone knows? nobody at lfs knew either, it was just in their extra tank, they've got it as extra from import. here are the pics. thnx

It just might be hair grass.

It looks like my hairgrass when my tank gets messy and a clump breaks free from its terrestrial prison.

Gravity? What gravity?

Yes, it's an Eleocharis (hairgrass). It's supposed to be rooted and makes a good carpet.

I third this... my dwarf hairgrass gets uprooted on occasion when i get aggressive with my trimmings. oops. It floats and then i have to try and root it again without pulling up the rest! so, it should be planted brown point down

Giving back creates a virtuous cycle that makes everyone more successful (as long as they cycle!)
