Stratum cap over dirt

Would using a screen (fiberglass screen used for screen doors)over dirt capped with Stratum work? I think Stratum is too light to hold the dirt but thought the screen may help. I have mineralized MGOC which is like powder now after sifting and would like to use it for a new tank capped with Stratum. Thanks in advance

Update - tried this and worked great, move plants with no dirt released in water column. I read that using fiberglass screen is ok to use. If anyone knows why this may cause issues later on please comment. Thank you.

It should be ok. I don't think a screen is necessary but might help with digging fish.

I'm not so sure you want to keep the screen in there. You won't be able to push stem plants in past the screen. Any rooted plants can root through the screen, but good if you ever want to pull one up you will likely pull the screen up with it. How deep is the cap layer?

Oh, I didn't think about the screen pulling the plants back up and it's just for shrimp so probably best not to do. I was going to do inch of mts and 2 inches of stratum. I tried in a small container to test it but didn't test pulling them out! Glad I didn't set up the tank yet. Thank you both for your responses, I appreciate it.
