dark grained sand?

planning a new big build and am hoping to find a source of dark to very dark sand to cap dirt in a large build. I will be needing around of ton so a low price per ton is important. I am looking for something a bit heavier than blasting grit or sts as I have trouble keeping plants down in the lighter mixes and it will be a enormous pain to have to replant plants that float out of the soil. thanks, steve

Get some Black Diamond blasting sand in the 20/40 grit. available at Tractor Supply Stores at about 8 bucks for a 50 pound bag. I have three tanks with this substrate and it works great. last month I set up my first dirted tank and capped it with BD sand......

+1 on the Black Diamond Blasting Sand. I now have it in 3 of my tanks and maybe 4 by the end of the weekend.

thanks for input but was hoping to avoid black diamond and getting something with a bit more variability and a bit denser. I might consider adding a bit of black diamond to something heavier to make it darker but still looking for ideas.
