Replacing substrate

So I am currently using eco complete substrate which I will be switching out for regular gravel... My tank is cycled at this point but I am wondering... if I switch out the gravel will I have to start the cycle over again?

Not exactly. By removing the substrate, you will be removing some beneficial bacteria, but most of it lives in your filter. I'd increase water changes and keep a close eye on ammonia and nitrate levels until it equalized again.

I'm fairly experienced with fish, but new to planted tanks.

Well that's good. Also good considering I only have a 55 gallon tank but I'm using two Aquaclear 70 filters. So hopefully there is a lot of beneficial bacteria stored up in each one.
