Change up?

I'm going to be moving and re-setting up my tank soon. I would like to get your opinions on which direction I should go. I currently have normal plain gravel and had bought safe-t-sorb to switch it out upon the new setup but I fear the STS has already degraded a bit. I got it, rinsed it out and let it soak in buckets for a while and never ended up getting around to changing it out for about 6 months so it is a little muddy now. I was considering still using it after another good rinse or I also thought of tossing it and picking up some black diamond sand or even considered STS capped with BDS. What do you guys think? I have a 75g tank with medium/high light, EI ferts and CO2. Looking for the best solution without breaking the bank and I don't think I want to go dirt. I have lots of osmocote root tabs and make my own clay, ferts and osmocote root tabs too. Thanks for your opinions in advance!

I love black diamond sand and with root tabs and EI ferts, there isn't much difference between it and any other substrate IMO. You are supplementing enough nutrition for the plants so go with whatever you think looks best.
