So , I am making mineralized soil...

I go out to check it this morning , and there are 2 birds taking a bath in my bucket

Lol, too funny. Hey, if you could somehow pasturize the poop in the soil that they left behind, the soil may still work. Lots of people claim success with a natural planted tank setup using unmineralized Miracle grow organic choice potting soil And one of the major ingreidents in that soil is pasturized bird poop.

I don't know if I would worry about it... After soaking/pouring off and soaking again and then drying it so many times. its pretty rinsed by the time you go to sift it.

Just cracks me up !! yesterday the dog is drinking it , today birds are bathing in it ,, now it is in a drying phase and I pray the cats dont come by and think its a litter box

haha I thought the same thing when I dried mine...I decided to dry 120 lbs of topsoil in my basement

I used to raise finches by the hundreds. Believe me, birds poop in the water they bathe in. They poop everywhere.

OK , I finished my cycles ( Florida weather LOL) and now have a muddy looking water filled tank ,,, It doesnt say that in the instructions pppffffttttt

Did you cap the mineralized soil with a couple of inches, at least, of an inert substrate like Flourite or pool filter sand?

I agree.. it shouldn't be like that.. if you did cap it.. what did you use and did you use a plate or something to deflect the water while filling? if you didn't you could of stirred it up too much.
