Question Substrate for my 55

Previously I had an 8"Oscar, 2 6" Jack Dempseys, and 3 4" convicts, and a common pleco in the tank. I have decided to go with regular black gravel for my substrate in my 55g. I was wondering if i should add a bag of flourite? I thought about going with an aquatic soil, but I have read many things saying that after about a year the soil is depleted of its nutrients.

Thank you in advance,
CAP

i dont really have much of a budget set for substrate. I have not fully decided on what i want to grow.......I know i want to grow ludwigia, hygro, rotola roundifolia, a sword or two, dwarf sag, i would like to grow L. Aromatica, should I just go with Flourite. the only problem is around me they don't sell flourite black and i want a black substrate, and to pay the shipping on it online is extremly expensive.

Thanks,
CAP

Oh tap my water is extremly hard PH 8.2 - 8.4 depending on the day GH is somewhere around 14 dh KH is 9 - 10 ammonia is 0 Nitrates are 0 - .5 depending on the month Nitrites are 0 but then again we have old steel pipes either way i plan on mixing it with RO to achive a hardness of 7.0 to 6.8 possibly a lil higher waiting to see how the CO2 affects the water Right now on my 20g with DIY CO2 it lowers the PH to around 7.2 I don't think the water is buffered all that well here

*edit*
Sorry i didn't even think of giving the parameters for the tap it never occured to me..... ohhh and DO NOT (I REPEAT) DO NOT DRINK THE WATER IN HEMET!!!!

It tastes horrid

Flourite black, Eco-Complete, Pro Turface/SMS Charcoal, ADA AquaSoil.

Of all those, you might be able to get Eco-Complete and/or Pro Turface locally.
