Replacing Red Sea Flora Base with ADA soil

I am having trouble growing HC with my substrate which is the flora base stuff. i think the grains are too big but anyways, how bad would it be to suck out most of the flora base and just toss in AS (the black powder one, forgot the name) to replace it? This tank is established.

i wouldnt take out most of it, probably just some of it. maybe like the top layer where you want it to grow?

maybe its the heat in here, maybe its the pressure
you ought to head for the exits, the sooner the better

i ended up pulling most of it out and replacing it. i found that if i just add the ada stuff to it, the AS would fall to the bottom of the substrate because the grains were smaller. so lots of water changes for me lol
