well, I got my equipment into day, and rinsed the flourite out real good. I must have spent around 1- 1:30 hours doing it, but it was still cloudy, and I just gave up and dumped it it the tank. Obviously, there is a cloud in my tank now, bad enough i cant see the back. I was wondering what I can do to clear it up faster. Water changes? Anything special i can put in the filter like carbon?

Your situation is fairly normal. A couple big water changes and keep that filter running and in a few days it should clear up... You could add a floculant(sp) but I would hold off....

The best method is to strain the fluorite. But I wouldn't do anymore washing so not to drain out the nutrients. You can do a few large water changes and in serveral hours to a day the tank should be clear.

it'll clear up and settle, but flourite will always cloud up if you disturb it enough (like when planting)

Well, the tank has cleared substantialy today. At this rate it should be crystal clear in a day or so. I actually did strain it using a strainer, but it still came out red when i washed the strained gravel. Thats when I gave up.
