Any last words of advive/ suggestions before I go to work on this today?

I'm draining my two week old 100g tank, and re-doing the substrate. I've planned on a "first layer" of laterite, followed by a 1" or so mixture of Schultz's Aquatic Soil (Profile) and cycled regular aquarium gravel, followed by about 2" of cycled regular aquarium gravel.
A peat layer has been suggested, but it sounds too messy, and I'd have to BOIL it first.
Does anyone see anything wrong with the above plan?

Thanks in advance!
