I've used it in the past with success and would use it again. Don't get me wrong, I'm a long time supporter of Flourite but for the right application Florabase works as well, if not better.
The one consideration I would make would be the size of the aquarium and the intended lifetime of the setup. If you've got a big tank that's going to be set up in the same place for at least two years, go with Flourite; especially if you're anticipating a lot of re-scaping. It's just more durable.
If you're going to have a smaller tank (36" long or less) and don't think you'll be rescaping every couple months give Florabase a go.
