soilmaster select red

I'm interested in using soilmaster select. The dealer around me only have soilmaster select red. Unless, I want to buy a pallet, I would have to go to a different store. I was thinking of buying red n mixing it with black gravel. Has anyone try using red, if so can you post some picture?

Here's a google search of some links.

Theres been pictures posted in the forums here of the red.
Try a search maybe.

I'm not sure mixing it with black gravel would be a good look IMO...It may look better used alone.

I was in the same boat as you. I really wanted charcoal but they didn't have it. I actually decided to go with Turface pro league instead of Soil master select because it is 100% inert. I'm actually pretty happy with the way it turned out, I still would have preferred gray/charcoal but it looks pretty good!

It's a dark reddish color and very dusty make sure you rinse it for at least a good hour.

I have 2 55's with the red. The first pic is my tank that I started about 4 weeks ago. The others are the tank I just redid last weekend.

That red doesn't look half bad. Infact, it looks more like a natural gravel color than red.

I might just have to try some.

Thanks,
AndrewH
