New Black Flourite

Does any one have pictures of their tank with the new black Flourite substrate? Would like to see it.

Can't help you with the black, but here's a pic of the newer dark version. It's pretty large BTW. Larger than the regular Flourite that I've seen.

Is there a 'black fluorite'? or is this Onyx Gravel/Sand? Seachem.com has only Fluorite and Fluorite Red listed.

Yep Seachem now has back fluorite and black fluorite sand, in addition to the dark ^^^ They look awesome, as I really don't personally care for the red.

I put up a 36 bow about a month ago with black flourite. Here's a not-especially-good photo from last weekend.

Regards,
Mike

This is my tank with flourite black (not sand)
There is a close up photo of the substrate...
the photos size was automatically reduced along with the quality when I upload the photos
I can send you some better quality photos if you want...

The substrate actually kinda look like those activated carbon you can buy in a jar...
There are some mixed white/red/green/brown color piece in the substrate out of the bag, but not a lot.

For flourite, I have only used flourite black. I didn't know it was actually new since I only started aquariums and planted tanks in September/October.

It is quite heavy. Compared to activated carbon, it is much heavier, smaller, and looks sharper. It is not too abrasive but it is very, very hard. Compared to eco-complete, the grains are sharper, more consistent in size and much harder.

Excuse my poor point and shoot photography skills!
Close up pictures...
