Adding nutrients to Turface?

How can fertilizers be added to Turface so that it will grow plants well? Will adding micronutrients and potassium cause them to stick to the Turface?

If you run a forum search on Soil Master Select (the product that Turface replaced), you'll find a few people who soaked their SMS in various ferts to "load" it, I believe with good results?

I agree. If you soak it in a fertilizer solution it can latch on to many of the charged molecules that make up the fertilizers. Can't do it dry, though. The molecules are charged only when they are in solution.

Oh, so Turface is also known as SMS? Is SMS just rebranded Turface or the other way around?

I'm wondering about this because I read that plants root poorly in Turface and I'm wondering if it's the minerals or just the macros, NPK, that is causing it to grow poorly.

They are comparable products, though sold through different companies, and SMS is no longer on the market.

I don't know if they are produced by the same plants, but I do know that back when SMS was discontinued, when I'd called a John Deere store trying to track down some, it was the lady there who referred me to Turface and "comparable" was the word she used.
