Question How Often to Replace O+ Tabs?

So I've had great results using Osmocote Gel caps I bought from a dude on here. My Tiger Lotuses and Amazon Swords are really looking amazing and growing fast, despite only having moderate lighting and around 20-25 ppm co2.

My question is, how often should I replace the root tabs? Secondly, as the plants get bigger will they need more tabs/ more frequent replacements?

I just don't want to have them become deficient again...really looked terrible before I started with O+ tabs and only had plain laterite under the gravel.

3 months is about the average for Osmocote+. You can add an extra tab if the plant mass starts to increase in area. I wouldn't go overboard though since too many Osmocote+ tabs will produce an ammonia and nitrate spike.

Would 25 or so be too many in a 55g?

That seems to be a bit much. How much were you using before?

About 15-20. Never had nitrate spike.
