Flourite gravel damaging snails shell?

is this possible?? i have a bunch of assassin snails that have white parts on their shell.... all this time i was thinking its the flourite gravel since its a little bit sharp.... is the gravel causing this problem? i've been dosing calcium and equlibrium with every water change so i wouldnt think it would be because of a calcium deficiency... KH is 4 and GH is 6(drops of tester)

I really doubt it, I would think water conditions would be more likely. I haven't kept assassins, but I've had MTS in flourite, and I often see the pointy tip deteriorate, but the bulk of the shell seems perfectly fine.

are u dosing calcium for the tank or for the snail?

the snail needs to eat food that have calcium in it to harden their shell. with a weak shell it will get deteriorated...

Yeah what's your pH? Acidic water will deteriorate the snails shells.
