I have a new 75G tank and plan to heavily plant it. I plan to put down 2"-4" (front to back) of pea size gravel as the bottom layer, then 2"-3" of flourite on top. Is this a good setup? Should I add another layer of gravel on top to sandwich flourite in? Thanks.

You can layer it if you want but when you start taking plants out or putting new plants in you are going to mix it together. Do you want to layer it for aesthetics?

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

It's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

That IS an aquascape, it's titled "The Vacant Lot".

I want them layered mostly to save money. This way, I can still have a slope without having to build up a thick florite layer in the back.

I'd just mix them together and slope away.
