3M Colorquartz Sand | Anyone used it?

Has anyone used this sand for substrate? I only want to use it for the decorative part of the substrate, not the planted part.

If you have used it please let me know if the T-Grade or S-Grade is better.

Get the larger grade. The smaller grade, I've heard, allows for anaerobic pockets which are bad, unless it's in a small tank.

Well do you think it would matter if I am not going to plant anything in the smaller grade?

Sorry if I hijack your thread, but where are you getting the 3M Colorquatrz from? I've seen links to the online page, but I've never seen anywhere to order it from.

BTW, I think the anaerobic pockets can be avoided by mixing the sand around real well and occasionally checking to may sure the pockets don't occur. You might want to find out from a better source.

You can't order it online. You go to their website here:

3M.com Redirect Page!

Only use the pulldown for "the project is in this state," select your state, and then click yellow "view vendors" button above. Find the distributor closest to you and find out if they carry it and which colors they carry.

If they sold this stuff in pet stores they would make a lot of money, but I am sure they make a ton of money as it is.

Good luck,
