flourite not acting right?

So I moved back last year in November so I had to tear down my 125 gal heavily planted tank (you can check my post to see pics of it). Well after getting settled in and getting my new fish room in order I set the 125gal back up to house cichlids and I set up my 75 for my main planted tank. At first when I set it up I used oil dri as substrate I ended up removing it because of ph issues with the oil dri and also it was too light in color for my taste. So one day a while back I was at petsmart and came across some closeout flourite so I grabbed 3 bags to try out in the 75. Well when I got the tank up and going with the flourite back in I guess it was maybe January or Feb, I have had awful growth out of my plants in my tank. Anyone else have bad luck with plant growth in flourite. Also in my tank I'm running pressurized co2, 4 15 watt compacted spiral bulbs 6500k, osmocote plus root tabs and DIY fertz. Pretty much using the same setup on this tank as the 125 when I had great growth. Also ph is around 6.8, kh and gh are around 5-7, everything else is 0. Anyone have input? Or bad luck with flourite?
