I used 3/4 of a bag for my 90 and it is about 3.5 inches deep. You wont use 2 bags. The stuff "puffs out" when it gets wet.

You will like the red. IT is nice with everything.
My farlowellas are ALWAYS eating the black stuff off my anubias barteri v. nana. I have also seen them on my sword leaves. Gotta have driftwood for them, tho they like to live on it and hide under it.

HTH!

NO way will you need to open the second bag, but I am sure it wont get wasted. YOu lose about a few spoonsful with water changes.

Here is a bigger pic with the red

The color is more brownish then red. I got tired of waiting for grey and just did my substate change. I used a plastic tub (beer cooler) to rinse. Just finished filling up about an hour ago.

I used more than a bag in my 75, but I terraced the back of the tank to depth of 6.5 inches.

marilyn and others with a 90G tank, what is your lighting situation? right now i have a 55g with AHS 55x4. and i also have a homedepot 4ft x2 light strip. ya'll think this is enough for the 90g or should i get something from AHS?

Sorry, my tank is in a room that is almost ALL glass and faces the west. I have skylights too. I have 130watt of compact light. I still fight green spot with it but have trouble wit hthe red plants. I have only been trying tho since May 06.

I think 2-4 wpg will do good as your tank is deep, like mine. I sometimes put an additional 56watts on the tank, but right now and growing out a nice case of GDA and BBA.

I look forward to others answers on this question.

My tank has a footprint of 36" x 15" - a single 50# bag gave me a depth of about 4".
