ADA with goldfish?

Well ADA AS has been in my tank for a bit now and I can definatly say I am in love with it. The plants grow so fast! anyway, It makes me want to add some to my goldfish tank. Not a full layer of the stuff but just a little big.

Can I take some and mix it in with the gravel? I know it will all sink down to the bottem right? so i will not beable to see it, i hope so.

What color should i get? doe sit make a deifferance?

What can I add to the filter that will be stronge enough to keep the water hard and give it a high PH to counter act the ADA AS effects to alkalinity and pH?

Why even use it in the tank with the goldfish if all you are going to do is add buffers to counter effect the softening ability of AS?? Its just a waste of money and good substrate.

Again why? Are you growing plants in the GF tank? My personal opinion is- AS and power sand work well with each other- splitting them up and using them with other substrate defeats a big part of their purpose-lowering ph and hardness. In return, promoting better plant growth. The idea of using these two products doesn't make sense, if in the end you are going to buffer the water. In the end what you do with your tank is your decision- i just don't think you will get full potential by mixing these products.
