Eco Complete and Gravel Vac

Ok, I feel like a complete idiot asking this question, but here goes.

I understand the Eco Complete has a high cation exchange capacity and out of the bag it has little nutrients for plants (please correct me if my understanding is flawed). Where it gains some of these nutrients is through the decay of detritus, fish waste, and plant matter within the tank.

If this is the case, does one gravel vacuum Eco Complete substrate or leave it undisturbed?

Leave it undisturbed. No need to vaccum. Nutrients new out of the bag should be plentiful.. until it finally exhausts later on, by then it should start to absorb nutrients in the water column from npk+trace or from fish feces, decaying plant matter. Eco has high CEC so it would continuously absorb nutrients and stay nourished if provided ferts, waste in the water column.
