ABG Soil??

I have tons of extra ABG mix from Josh's Frogs left over from my vivarium. This soil looks perfect for a planted mud tank! Can I use ABG Mix in my new planted tank setup? I was thinking I would cap it with eco-complete.

ABG relies on assorted insects (pillbugs, springtails, etc) to break down the organic material into usable nutrients for the plants. Also, the soil stays moist and well drained, not soaked (underwater). The different ingredients could have unwanted effects on the water chemistry (low pH) and the large pieces of bark could push through the cap and float.

I'm not saying it can't work, but I have my doubts.
