In the process of making MTS, but might switch to MGOCPM.

Hello everyone! After reading up on different substrates, I've come to a dilemma... MTS or MGOCPM? I know that both are "tried and true" so to speak, but I'm not sure which one would be a better choice. I was planning on finishing the MTS for my 40b, and in the next week or so tearing down the tank and starting over with the MTS with a Eco-Complete cap and doing the DSM for my HC. Does anyone have any input? If I do choose to go with MGOCPM do you just sift it and put it in the tank with a cap, or do you have to rinse and dry it similar to MTS? I've been reading conflicting answers. Thanks for your help!

I dumped in the miracle grow and capped it, may have removed one or two bigger pieces but that was it, its been going great.

Question is, if you've already started the mts why would you stop now? Just finish it and go that way, seems a waste of time to stop half way through

I'm wondering the same thing for a future tank.

MTS would be better if you do it properly by adding all the extra ingredients like clay, dolomite, etc. But it's back breaking, tedious and messy work.

MGOCPM is good but no work and no mess involved, besides maybe sift it a little.

Your choice.
